Each Friday weather permitting a one hour walk is organised at one of the many parks in the immediate locality. The walks commence at 9.30am and during the course of the walk members stop for morning tea either at a local cafe or BYO. The venues for these walks are announced at the General Meetings for the following month and are published in the Club newsletter.

Tours (short)

During the year some selected tours of a short duration are proposed for the approval of the Committee; once approved the Tours Convenor goes ahead with arrangements to ensure the success of the tour. Recent short tours have been to the North East High Country of Victoria, the Snowy Mountains Region, the Grampians and the Western District of Victoria and Lakes Entrance.

Live Theatre

The Clubs Live Theatre convenor keeps a close watch on the programs that are provided by theatres within our local area and is quick to book seats for shows which appeal to our members. Group bookings are made for two or three such shows each year; these shows have proved to be very popular.

Movies

Usually on a monthly basis a movie suitable to the
preferrence of our members is selected at one of the
local theatres. A group booking is made for a mid-week
afternoon showing and the members who elect to attend
the movie meet at the theatre prior to the show for coffee.
All members are welcome, especially new members.

Lawn Bowls

The bowlers of the Club meet weekly at the Donvale
Bowls Club to engage in a game of social bowls.
All members including novice bowlers are welcome
and the more experienced bowlers are on hand to
assist the beginners. In February each year the
bowlers organise an evening at the bowls club
where members gather for an evening of bowls followed
by a dinner in the club house.

Dine Outs

Several times during the year "dine outs", either
lunch or dinner, are organised at local restaurants,
bistros, taverns or hotels. These events are well
patronised by the members who are encouraged
to nominate venues, especially venues that have
not previously been visited or at least not in recent
times.

Day Trips

Our energetic Activities Coordinator from time to time organises 'day trips' to places of interest, These trips usually take the form of a coach trip, occasionally a train trip or a car pooled excursion. The trips are usually catered for with morning and afternoon tea and lunch included in the price. Recent trips have been to the Belarine Peninsular, the Mornington Peninsular,  Bendigo, a harness racing  meeting in Warrigal and a trip around Port Phillip Bay. Members are encouraged to suggest destinations for such trips.

Crazy Whist

On selected nights throughout the Probus year 'crazy whist' card nights are held in the ante room of the hall in which the Club meets. All who attend these evenings have a great time, supper is served during the evening. All members are encouraged to attend especially new members who find that such events are an excellent means of getting to know other members and to enjoy the fellowship of the Club.

Book Exchange

Dedicated and hard working members of the Club have, over
many years established a comprehensive library of 'best
selling' and 'classic books'.  Books are on display monthly at
the general meeting and may be borrowed by members at
no cost. All that is required is that the member record his/her
name, the title of the book and the date borrowed in the
register kept for this purpose. The books should be returned
at the following meeting and the date returned entered in the
register.
Members are encouraged to donate unwanted books to the library.

Creative Hands

A number of our more creative members meet monthly  in the
ante room of the club's meeting hall to engage in a range of
sewing, knitting and other art/craft pursuits with the resulting
products being donated to various charitable causes,
including the Royal Children's Hospital and local nursing
homes. Morning tea is provided at these meetings with
members rotating 'tea duties'. From time to time, special
events such as fashion parades are organised to coincide
with these mornings.

Barbecues

Each Tuesday evening during Daylight Saving Time a BYO Bar-B-Cue is held at Ruffey Lake Park. These fun evenings commence at 5.30pm and all members are welcome. On special dates, e.g. Melbourne Cup Eve, members are encouraged to enter into the spirit of the occasion and dress appropriately.

Bike Riding

On selected days bike rides are organised at local venues,
the date time and location of the rides are announced each
month at the general meeting. All members are welcome
to participate but are advised that they must bring their
own bicycle and should dress appropriately for this activity.
Members are strongly advised to carry water or energy drinks

Book Club

The Club sponsors an active and enthusiastic book club. Each month the members of the book club meet at the home of a club member where the book chosen at the previous meeting is critiqued and analysed according to its literary merits. Lively debate and discussion ensues on the quality of the book and the attributes of the author. A book is then selected for the following month's reading.
