Combined men's and women's club.
Meets at 10 am on the second Tuesday

About Our Club

The Donvale-Tunstall Probus Club Inc., a combined men's and women's club sponsored by Rotary District 9810 was established towards the end of 1999 with a foundation membership of 67; the first general meeting of the club was held on the 15th of November 1999. Since inauguration the membership has grown steadily, currently there are more than 110 members with vacancies for more and no waiting list.

The Club meets at 10 am on the second Tuesday of each month (except January), at the Doncaster East Baptist Church which is located at 47-53 Tunstall Road, Doncaster East. The meetings generally entail consideration of administrative matters, a review of the activities for the past month and a summary of the activities programmed for the forthcoming month(s) and any general business matters. Morning tea is provided by club volunteers and this is followed with a presentation from a guest speaker. Guest speakers are selected on the basis of their background and experience and the relevance of their topic to our membership.

Our club is very socially orientated and the many and varied activities undertaken are specifically structured to cater for the interest of our members. On a weekly basis, activities including; walking and cycling for exercise, golf and lawn bowls for the sports minded and BBQs (during daylight saving time) are organised. Other events including musical concerts, live theatre and movies are scheduled on a monthly basis. Dine outs, either luncheons or dinners at local restaurants and hotels are a regular event and tours of short or longer duration are a highlight of the Probus year. Other social activities including book club, craft group and crazy whist evenings, cater for a wide range of interests.

Each month our newsletter editor produces a comprehensive bulletin which ensures that members are kept up to date with all matters of interest. A copy of the current month's newsletter is posted for the information of members on this site (see "The Probe" page)

Membership of our club is open to retired and semi-retired members of the community; new members are most welcome and anybody requiring more information or who may be interested in joining should refer to our "Membership" page on this site.
